Technology Coach

PURPOSE

  • Promote and support district goals related to technology and 21st Century Learning

  • Empower teachers and students’ growth and development in their use of a variety of technology tools to support student achievement.

  • Provides professional development for teachers in the area of educational technology.

  • Facilitate, teach and be part of dynamic instructional teams.

SKILLS/Requirements NEEDED FOR A TECHNOLOGY FACILITATOR

  • Experienced certified teacher who demonstrates a strong understanding of pedagogy and best practices.

  • Advanced degree/experience in instructional technology is preferred.

  • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and share with others.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work with individuals with a wide a range of technological expertise.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of faculty, staff, librarians and others in multiple departments across the school.

  • Provides “just-in-time” training to teachers to support their goals.

  • Collaboratively design, create and deliver innovative instructional materials and programs on the use of technology to enrich teaching and enhance student achievement.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with a variety of audiences.

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in applications and web-based tools, including document creation, blogs, social networking, multi-media and web-publishing.

  • Demonstrate ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment in providing services based on goals.

  • Maturity of judgment under pressure; ability to resolve/mediate problems in a timely and effective manner.
