Wii! (an Interactive whiteboard for under $100?)

This is really amazing! A programmer named Johnny Chung Lee has developed a hack for the Wii remote control that enables users to create their own interactive whiteboard for around $100. Check out the videos on his web page.

ActivPen – inActivPen

promethean-activpen.jpgSome of the pens for the ActivBoards have suddenly stopped working. If it happens to you, try this.

  1. Update ActivStudio: Open activStudio, click on Support, check for update and download and proceed with installation.
  2. Repeat: Repeat the above step until you see a statement on the Support tab that says your software is updated.
  3. Remove Old Driver: Click on Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Remove ActivDriver
  4. Install Newest Driver: Download the latest driver. Then double click on it to start the installation.
  5. Temporarily Cut the Power: Unplug the board from power then plug in again.
  6. Calibrate your pen.

You can get the pen to work again by either de-powering the board momentarily or restarting your computer or both.

If you’ve done all of this and you’re pen still goes on strike, call Promethean. Your board is likely still under warranty… 1-888-652-2848
